Acquisition of the hotel in March 2010.
 My notary was still waiting... My mother saw it as madness... And for me, it was all that I wanted ... An outdated hotel where I could express myself fully :)

But I had no idea what I was getting into ... Not at all ...

First renovation April 2010. The objective was "comfort".
The bedding was completely replaced, bed linen completely revised, paintwork redone, carpets replaced, and flat-screen TVs installed in all rooms. All rooms are decorated differently. Simple but warm decor. In the restaurant/bar/terrace area, we've created a "relaxation" area to make you feel even more welcome. We've installed a flat-screen TV in the bar area, so you can keep up with the news or catch up on a match... Barrels have been converted to make standing meals. We have installed an approved baby changing table for your children's safety and comfort. To combine business with pleasure, we've installed wifi throughout the site. For the catering: The crockery has been completely replaced, the table linen has been completely overhauled and, for better value for money, we have made wifi, TV and parking available free of charge.

At that time, the establishment was still at the stage of renting televisions and a charge for wifi for 15 minutes :) That's saying a lot...

October 2010

The hotel had suffered extensive water damage, to my great regret... The hotel and restaurant had been damaged, and I had been unable to keep the establishment open year-round as announced.

Closure of the hotel until 01 July 2011.
We had already done a lot and all our efforts had been in vain...
Work could only start in June 2011. Guests were reluctant to book, as we feared would happen, and it was a short season.

We had to redo many of the rooms, with new paint and carpets. The decor was redesigned for greater style and conviviality. The corridors (very damaged) were completely renovated. The hotel having had its first shipwreck... we chose a marine decor! Anchor, propeller, fender, porthole...

For added comfort, all rooms are equipped with hairdryers and desks.
The reception/hotel area has been refurbished.

The restaurant chairs have been replaced for better seating and greater comfort. The entire dining room has been repainted, and the decor revised to immerse you in the world of the sea.

The bar has been fitted with attractive stools to emphasize its modernity.

The entrance to our Restaurant de la Mer has been adorned with a pretty basket offering a beautiful entrance.
As winter approaches, our customers will be able to enjoy a cigarette without needing umbrellas.

I wasn't sure I'd be able to open and run this new "late season" on July 1.

But with a dose of tenacity, limited sleep, a love of work and a dash of stress, the balance was perfect!

I was planning to build a terrace suite, but I regret not being able to carry out this project immediately.

We have many priorities to bring you maximum comfort.

However, this project has only been postponed, but not cancelled.

The Hôtel de la Mer was a favourite and despite many difficulties it remains my most beautiful project...

We still have a lot of work to do, and we'll keep at it until you're satisfied.

July 2012

I've been hit with a full-blown bereavement.
I lost the man who replaced a father. He was at the center of my choices and decisions, he was my priority. He used to say that work should be a passion and that it should be done with precision. He was my balance. I've tried to do my utmost to serve and please you. I persevere. and I apologize to anyone who may have seen the pain in my eyes. During this summer, I have seen you laughing, living, loving each other, as a family with your children, and that's been a great consolation for me.

Season 2013
I won't go into all the pitfalls I've had to deal with...as any self-respecting business owner would.
Except that for me, it's as if life is testing me indefinitely...

November 2013

 In collaboration with Mika, my best element, we have worked to bring you maximum comfort and continue to guarantee the best "quality/price" value.
*Some rooms have been redesigned to give you more space.
* We've created superior rooms for even greater comfort" with 80 cm flat-screen TVs.
* For even greater comfort, we've redesigned the "3/4-person family room" to make you feel as if you were at home.

December 2013

After the new standard of hotel classification, we applied for the Hotel De La Mer classification.
And as fate would have it... We were awarded "2 stars" on Christmas Eve...Classification Pronounced on December 23!
We are delighted to have been able to add another 2-star hotel to our resort.

Insurance !!!!

As I'm still waiting for the "water damage 2010!!!" insurance, I'm moving at a snail's pace.

(Just kidding) The best way to never fall... Is to always stay sitting...

February 2014.

We thought of creating a lounge area with exotic straw huts...
An aperitif, an ice cream, a sandwich, a nap ;) under the straw huts, vacation effect guaranteed...
(We are currently working on improving this space).

An important project...

We have to admit that it's difficult to live with a disability on a daily basis...
Our goal at L'Hôtel De La Mer is to help you have a better future...

2017/2018

 With Mika , we have reviewed several points to better accommodate you .
Some rooms have been better arranged . Carpets have all been removed for better hygiene.  The doors of the rooms all removed and replaced by fire doors, to ensure your safety. The relaxation area has also been refurbished.

We've done so much that I forget months ... or years :)

2019/2020

Mika has redone the bathrooms in some of the rooms to bring them up to date, failing to be able to push the walls. All our rooms have a different style and atmosphere. He also made all those beautiful headboards you love so much.
It's all thanks to him.

Also, with the pandemic, we had to redesign the reception area to respect distance and barrier gestures. So we've redesigned the reception area to make it more welcoming (and of course it's Mika's work again :) ).
We are planning to air-condition the hotel, but unfortunately this is not yet possible.
But we hope to offer you this comfort next season. We'll do our utmost to respond to many requests.
The least we can do is to give you the best we can ...

2021 Air-conditioned hotel ...

We are pleased to announce that our hotel is now air-conditioned.
This comfort was long awaited by all our customers. As the air conditioning is reversible, we plan to stay open until December. We look forward to welcoming you for the Christmas vacations. You will be able to discover our large and magnificent Christmas market, not far from the hotel.
